Service and Tuning

It is critical to the integrity of your piano to keep it in tune to A440 concert pitch. Pianos that are not tuned regularly often develop technical problems as a result of this neglect. The piano in your home should be tuned every six months as prescribed by all major manufacturers. The piano in a commercial environment should be tuned every three to four months. A piano should be tuned every time it is moved and after it has acclimated to its new environment for at least ten days.

We provide all technical services by qualified Piano Technicians and Tuners. Your piano is a fine instrument and requires continuous tuning & maintenance in order to insure your piano's integrity. We are more than happy to help you keep your piano in the best condition possible. Click on the categories below for further information.

Regular Tunings

Key Benefits in Tuning Your Piano Regularly

•  Better tone and enjoyment

•  Avoiding pin block, bridge & sound board damage and costly repairs

•  Consistent ear tone training

Standard Tuning - $120.00

Our experienced tuners are aural tuners (tune by ear), which is the means preferred by professional pianist. We will provide the finest tuning at concert pitch and enhance the richest tone possible in your piano.

Pitch Raise - $165.00

Pianos that are not tuned regularly continue to fall flat. Once a piano falls 25 cents or 1/4 step flat the piano must receive a Pitch Raise, going through the piano two to three times in order for the strings to stretch and stabilize. This is done in one visit but requires an additional amount of time. Our tuners can consult with you if you have a question regarding pitch raises.

Estimates/Service - Call $75.00 (Fee applied to work done.)

Service Calls/Estimates - Many minor repairs can be done at the time of your tuning for no charge or a very nominal charge. If you are experiencing technical difficulties and do not need a tuning, most minor repairs can be resolved with an in home service call with a service charge. If your piano requires more extensive repairs, we will give you a full evaluation and exact cost estimate and the service call fee will be applied to the total cost of repairs.

Major Repairs - Per Job

It is not always necessary for a full rebuild or restoration. Many more major issues can be resolved providing the other components of the piano are in good order. Because of their diversity, major repair prices are on a per job basis and we are happy to give you a full evaluation and exact cost estimate and the service call charge will be applied to the total cost of repairs.

Player System Installations

Player System Installation begining at $1995.00

Rebuilding/Restorations

Rebuilding $1000.00 - $1500.00/linear foot

Rebuilding entails disassembling the piano and rebuilding the piano from its infrastructure and replacing all wearing components including pin block, hammers, action components, pins, strings, major repairs and refinishing of the cabinet. See our Restoration/Rebuilding page for further details.

Restorations Beginning At $1000.00/linear foot

Restorations are much like rebuilding but executed on vintage and rare pianos of great worth. The purpose is to return the piano to its original factory condition but because of its rarity requires additional steps and re-manufacturing. It involves all components of rebuilding and additional features such as re-manufacturing un-replaceable parts by hand, special finishes, and correcting issues brought about by age or previous modifications. See our Restoration/Rebuilding page for further details.

Regular Maintenance, Regulation & Voicing

Aside from tuning, pianos require regular maintenance and service in order to maintain touch and tone. This is accomplished through the regulation (adjustment) of the action mechanism and voicing of the hammers among other technical tasks. Regulation and Voicing prices are on a per job basis and we are happy to give you a full evaluation and exact cost estimate and the service call charge will be applied to the total cost of repairs.
